  • ACT Prep Seminar (Grades 10-12)

    In-Person Option: This five-hour seminar enables your learner to prepare for the ACT college admission test. Your child will gain valuable insight into the ACT through a close examination of each type of question. This seminar will teach strategies necessary for answering specific question types and general test-taking tips. It also provides suggestions for post seminar test preparation. Your student will receive 24 practice tests, divided into 20-minute workouts, written to ACT specifications, as well as a detailed preparation study guide. Virtual Option: This five-hour virtual seminar enables your learner to prepare for the ACT college admission test. This virtual seminar will teach strategies necessary for answering specific question types and general test-taking tips. It also provides suggestions for post seminar test preparation. Participant will have access to the seminar for 6 months. Links with access codes will be provided after registration by Doorway to College/ZAPS.   • Adult Water/Swim Lesson (Age 18 & Up)

    These small group lessons are designed to give any participant the semi-individualized attention necessary in order to improve or master water comfort or swimming skills. Together, the instructor and participants determine the goals for the session and the curriculum is customized in order to meet those goals. Women's session open to women only.   • Advanced Preschool (Ages 3-4 Years)

    Skills taught include safety topics, front and back paddle, kicking, treading water and advanced breath control. The goal in this class is to perform each skill unassisted. Parents do not need to get into the water with their child. Class limit: 4. Lessons at Tech: Enter Door 2
  • Art Studio Cohort @ North (Grades 6-8)

    Spring Art Cohort is a combination of Club and Studio. We work hard at creating art for an 8 week period of time, and end with an art show where we present the finished works to friends, family and community members. By joining Art Cohort, you are committing to attending each week (please communicate if there is illness or emergency that prevents you from coming, to find out what you need to catch up on), using your time wisely while at Art Cohort to create art, and participating in our art community, which includes listening well to others, and contributing your own ideas/thoughts to the discussions. ***Limited number of spots available. Students who have participated in Art@ North before will be given priority, and then students will be allowed in by order of grade*** Art Show will be held at Youth for Christ 203 Cooper Ave North on May 2nd, 7-8pm (artists must be present from 6:00-8:30pm)

  • Baby Bobbers (Ages 6-24 Months)

    Designed to orient your child (accompanied by parent) to better prepare them for Toddler Swim lessons. Parents will learn safety information and techniques to help your child feel comfortable in the water. This class provides a bonding experience for parents and their children. Class limit: 12.   • Beginning Guitar at Spicer Music Studio

    Does your child want to learn more about playing the guitar? They'll start with simplified chords and play songs after the first lesson. This class is a great place to start building a good foundation in guitar and challenges without overwhelming participants as they progress at their own speed. This Community Education offer includes three (3) thirty (30) minute sessions. Bring to class: your own guitar. Spicer Music Studio contact information will be given at time of registration to schedule lessons. This Community Education offer is limited to one use per participant.
  • BlueSox Youth Baseball Camp (Ages 7-12)

    The Blue Sox Youth Baseball Camp is intended for children between the ages of 7-12, with the primary objective to introduce and familiarize them with the game of baseball and provide further practice for those who already have a passion for the sport and are looking to improve their skills. The Blue Sox Youth Baseball Camp will focus on teaching the basics of the game, including batting, fielding, throwing, and game strategies. We aim to help each child develop their personal skills, understanding of the game, and foster a love for baseball. The camp is designed to cater to the individual needs of each participant, allowing them to progress at their own pace. This program offers an excellent opportunity for children to learn and grow in a fun, safe, and engaging environment. About the instructor: Our experienced and passionate coaches are committed to creating a positive and constructive learning environment. Each coach is well-versed in the sport, capable of providing the necessary guidance and support, and keen on nurturing the potential in each child. The Blue Sox Youth Baseball Camp is more than just a camp; it aims to create a community that encourages children to engage in sports, learn teamwork, discipline, and resilience, all while having fun.   • Code Championship Tournament Series: Virtual Computer Coding Competition (Grades 3-9)

    Your child will build a computer bot to play head-to-head against other coders. Whether this is their first Code Championship event, or if you've been competing for years, this is the perfect way to explore the competitive coding world of Code Championship. No previous coding experience necessary. The Code Championship Series is a series of four tournaments in four weeks (it's ok to miss one or two). These tournaments will be hosted online using Google Meet and the Code Championship website. If you have a modern browser like Chrome or Firefox, no additional download is required. Participants should be able to navigate the internet (basic typing and mouse control). The link to the Google Meet event will be emailed two days before the tournament.
  • Cotton Candy Making (Grades K-8)

    Come and learn how Cotton Candy is made WITH and WITHOUT a machine. In this class we will be learning how Cotton Candy is made by heating and spinning flavored sugar and Jolly Ranchers. We will also be playing games for fun prizes like a CARNIVAL and EVERY child will go home with Cotton Candy and Prizes. Come and have some fun with your friends and enjoy the CARNIVAL. Enter door 1.
  • DASH Flag Football (Grades K-5)

    DASH Sports flag football camps provide players with a well-rounded football experience in a little to no contact safe environment. Key elements of passing, catching, rushing, and defense will be taught and practiced daily, and players will be grouped and challenged at an appropriate level in a fun, positive environment while learning values of ‘Respect, Hustle, and Pride’. Camp ends with scrimmages/games the final day where players can showcase their skills. Athletes should bring a water bottle, sunscreen, and a snack (spikes/cleats, and mouthguards are optional). Football and other equipment is provided.
  • DASH Flag Football Tykes

    DASH Sports flag football tykes camps provide players with an introductory experience to the great game of football in a little to no contact safe environment. Key elements of passing, catching, rushing, and defense will be taught and practiced. Fun, skill-based games will be played to practice newly learned skills. Athletes should bring a water bottle (spikes/cleats are optional). Footballs and flag belts are provided. Parent participation is required for the 2-3 year old class and recommended when needed for the 4-5 year old class.

    NEW! DASH Sports Track & Field camps provide participants with practice in several areas including: Sprinting, javelin throwing, shotput, relay running, jumping and distance running. Emphasis is on technique and proper form. Camp consists of many different types of physical activities, drills, and games, all tailored specifically to enhance overall track and field performance. Campers should bring a water bottle and wear athletic shoes. Meet by the outside fields.

    NEW! DASH Sports Track & Field Tykes camps provide participants with a basic introduction into Track & Field events. Participants will learn and practice how to correctly run, jump, and throw. Emphasis is on technique and proper form. Camp consists of many different types of physical activities, drills, and games, all tailored specifically to enhance overall athletic ability & performance. Bring to class: water bottle, snack, and wear athletic shoes. Meet by the outside fields.
  • District 742 6th Grade Golf

    District 6th graders can join HS golf practice. Changes daily depending on weather. Practice information will be communicated by the coaches. There will be transportation to practices. Students will need a ride home.
  • District 742 Swim Camp (Grades K-8)

    District 742 Swim Camp is open to anyone who is kindergarten through 8th grade, and can comfortably and independently swim in the shallow end, at a minimum. We will work on skills needed for each participant, from basic swimming skills to competitive swimming skills. * For scholarships, contact Coach Shanley at evan.shanley@isd742.org Transportation: North Jr. High and Kennedy students can take the shuttle bus over to Apollo. Students in grades K-5 will need to find a ride over to Apollo. Students should be picked up promptly at the end of the class, grades K-2 at 4:45p and grades 3-8 at 5:15p. Parents will be required to pick up students at the end of the camp at Apollo, door 11. Students must provide their own suits and towels. Goggles and swim caps are highly recommended, but not required. **Note: Wednesday, May 1st is an early-release from school in 742. Families will need to provide their own transportation to Apollo**
  • Game-ified Piano Lessons at Spicer Music Studio

    Your young musician can play music with an app designed to give them scores on note and rhythm accuracy. This teaching method uses pianos hooked up to an app and feels like a game that students love to play that has educational value and helps students progress quickly. This Community Education offer is three (3) thirty (30) minute sessions. Spicer Music Studio contact information will be given at time of registration to schedule lessons. This Community Education offer is limited to one use per participant.
  • Guitar, Bass Guitar, Banjo, Mandolin, or Ukulele-Beginner, Intermediate or Beyond (Ages 6-17)

    Is your child interested in music? Professional virtual instruction is being offered by Steve Cekalla's Guitar and Music School. This class offers a unique and fun approach for starters, but with the ability to teach styles, theory, and techniques to those with instrument experience. A stable internet connection, some internet savvy (ex. ability to screenshot/print screen), and access to a working printer is helpful. Participants should have their own instrument, but a limited amount of guitars are available. Please check before registering for availability. This Community Education package is for three virtual 30-minute group lessons. Only one lesson package per student. Your child's sessions will be scheduled in the month you registered for. Contact information will be given at the time of registration.
  • Horse Day Camp (Ages 6-17)

    Your child will learn what it's like to have a horse for a day! Campers get to ride in the indoor and/or outdoor arenas for 40min-50min (no trails), practice how to steer, stop, turn, and walk on their own. Participants may have the opportunity to make horse treats, do a craft, and play games along with time to meet and care for the horses. Campers are broken into smaller groups based on similar riding experience and age, perfect for new or experienced riders. Camps are held rain or shine. Proper attire includes sneakers or boots (closed toe with a heel), long pants and layers, depending on weather. ASTM/SEI certified helmets provided and required to be worn. Signed waiver forms are required and the link will be emailed to participants once they have registered for the camp. Bring to class: sunscreen, bug spray, water bottle, nut-free snack and lunch.   • Kickboxing & Boxing for Youth (Ages 7-15)

    Your child will learn two skills at once with fitness kickboxing & boxing combined. This one-hour class is open to boys & girls of all skill levels from recreational, fitness, self-defense, as well as competitive. Participants learn basic boxing/striking skills, proper kicking techniques, participate in conditioning drills, and also learning how to defend themselves. The skills taught can serve as a base for hand-eye coordination, footwork, and focus to use in other sports.
  • My Little Horse Camp (Ages 2-5 with Caregiver)

    Campers will get to ride a real horse in an arena, meet several different horses at Boulder Pointe and learn how to groom the horses...all with a focus on safety! In addition, students will do an art project and have an opportunity to make horse treats to feed their new friends. Stations are split into 15-minute intervals to keep everyone engaged. Parents have the opportunity to lead their child on the horse and take photographs as they go. Camps are held rain or shine. There is an outdoor and indoor arena. Proper attire includes sneakers or boots (closed toe with a heel), long pants and layers, depending on weather. ASTM/SEI certified helmets provided and required to be worn. This 2-hour camp is designed for parent/guardian participation. Parent/Guardian is expected to remain with their child during the entire duration of the camp. Signed waiver forms are required and the link will be emailed to participants once they have registered for the camp. Bring to class: sunscreen, bug spray, water bottle and a nut-free snack.   • Native American Beaded Wristlet Keychain (Ages 8 & up)

    Beads have a history with the Native American people. From the materials they used to how the beads are incorporated in their everyday lives, they tell a story. Learn the art of stitching seed beads (Manido-min-esag) to create a rope style key chain.
  • Open Pool at Apollo (Grades 6 & Up)

    Come play in the pool at Apollo. We will work on a swimming skill for 20 minutes, then you will have 40 minutes of free time to play. Dinner after will be provided by The Yes Network. Transportation to Apollo from North on the Activity Bus. Participants must be picked up from door 11 at 4:45, there is NO transportation home from Apollo. Sign up for whichever sessions work in your schedule. Requirements - Must be able to independently swim a full lap of the pool and must be able to swim in the deep end without any assistance.   • Paint at Home: Pet Painting Kit (Ages 10 & Up)

    NEW! In this paint-at-home activity, participants will paint an artist-created image of their own pet! Participants will submit a photo of a beloved pet and the Gray Duck artists will get to work creating your one-of-a-kind pet paint-by-number. This piece will then be sent with all supplies needed to complete your piece on your own time. Specific instructions and email address to submit image will be provided after registration is completed. Note: There is an additional charge for a 2nd pet of $25.00.
