Art Studio Cohort @ North (Grades 6-8)
Spring Art Cohort is a combination of Club and Studio. We work hard at creating art for an 8 week period of time, and end with an art show where we present the finished works to friends, family and community members. By joining Art Cohort, you are committing to attending each week (please communicate if there is illness or emergency that prevents you from coming, to find out what you need to catch up on), using your time wisely while at Art Cohort to create art, and participating in our art community, which includes listening well to others, and contributing your own ideas/thoughts to the discussions. ***Limited number of spots available. Students who have participated in Art@ North before will be given priority, and then students will be allowed in by order of grade*** Art Show will be held at Youth for Christ 203 Cooper Ave North on May 2nd, 7-8pm (artists must be present from 6:00-8:30pm)

DASH Flag Football (Grades K-5)
DASH Sports flag football camps provide players with a well-rounded football experience in a little to no contact safe environment. Key elements of passing, catching, rushing, and defense will be taught and practiced daily, and players will be grouped and challenged at an appropriate level in a fun, positive environment while learning values of ‘Respect, Hustle, and Pride’. Camp ends with scrimmages/games the final day where players can showcase their skills. Athletes should bring a water bottle, sunscreen, and a snack (spikes/cleats, and mouthguards are optional). Football and other equipment is provided.

ACT Prep Seminar (Grades 10-12)
In-Person Option: This five-hour seminar enables your learner to prepare for the ACT college admission test. Your child will gain valuable insight into the ACT through a close examination of each type of question. This seminar will teach strategies necessary for answering specific question types and general test-taking tips. It also provides suggestions for post seminar test preparation. Your student will receive 24 practice tests, divided into 20-minute workouts, written to ACT specifications, as well as a detailed preparation study guide. Virtual Option: This five-hour virtual seminar enables your learner to prepare for the ACT college admission test. Your child will gain valuable insight into the ACT through a close examination of each type of question. This virtual seminar will teach strategies necessary for answering specific question types and general test-taking tips. It also provides suggestions for post seminar test preparation. Your student will receive 24 practice tests, divided into 20-minute workouts, written to ACT specifications, as well as a detailed preparation study guide. Participant will have access to the seminar for 6 months. Links with access codes will be provided after registration by Doorway to College/ZAPS. Beginning Guitar at Spicer Music Studio
Does your child want to learn more about playing the guitar? They'll start with simplified chords and play songs after the first lesson. This class is a great place to start building a good foundation in guitar and challenges without overwhelming participants as they progress at their own speed. Code Championship Tournament Series: Virtual Computer Coding Competition (Grades 3-9)
Your child will build a computer bot to play head-to-head against other coders. Whether this is their first Code Championship event, or if you've been competing for years, this is the perfect way to explore the competitive coding world of Code Championship. No previous coding experience necessary. The Code Championship Series is a series of four tournaments in four weeks (it's ok to miss one or two). These tournaments will be hosted online using Google Meet and the Code Championship website. If you have a modern browser like Chrome or Firefox, no additional download is required. Participants should be able to navigate the internet (basic typing and mouse control). The link to the Google Meet event will be emailed two days before the tournament.

Game-ified Piano Lessons at Spicer Music Studio
Your young musician can play music with an app designed to give them scores on note and rhythm accuracy. This teaching method uses pianos hooked up to an app and feels like a game that students love to play that has educational value and helps students progress quickly. Guitar, Bass Guitar, Banjo, Mandolin, or Ukulele-Beginner, Intermediate or Beyond (Ages 6-17)
Is your child interested in music? Professional virtual instruction is being offered by Steve Cekalla's Guitar and Music School. This class offers a unique and fun approach for starters, but with the ability to teach styles, theory, and techniques to those with instrument experience. A stable internet connection, some internet savvy (ex. ability to screenshot/print screen), and access to a working printer is helpful. Participants should have their own instrument, but a limited amount of guitars are available. Please check before registering for availability. This Community Education package is for three virtual 30-minute group lessons. Only one lesson package per student. Your child's sessions will be scheduled in the month you registered for. Contact information will be given at the time of registration.

Horse Day Camp (Ages 6-17)
Your child will learn what it's like to have a horse for a day! Campers get to ride in the indoor and/or outdoor arenas for 40min-50min (no trails), practice how to steer, stop, turn, and walk on their own. Participants may have the opportunity to make horse treats, do a craft, and play games along with time to meet and care for the horses. Campers are broken into smaller groups based on similar riding experience and age, perfect for new or experienced riders. Camps are held rain or shine. Proper attire includes sneakers or boots (closed toe with a heel), long pants and layers, depending on weather. ASTM/SEI certified helmets provided and required to be worn. My Little Horse Camp (Ages 2-5 with Caregiver)
Campers will get to ride a real horse in an arena, meet several different horses at Boulder Pointe and learn how to groom the horses...all with a focus on safety! In addition, students will do an art project and have an opportunity to make horse treats to feed their new friends. Stations are split into 15-minute intervals to keep everyone engaged. Parents have the opportunity to lead their child on the horse and take photographs as they go. Camps are held rain or shine. There is an outdoor and indoor arena. Proper attire includes sneakers or boots (closed toe with a heel), long pants and layers, depending on weather. ASTM/SEI certified helmets provided and required to be worn. This 2-hour camp is designed for parent/guardian participation. Parent/Guardian is expected to remain with their child during the entire duration of the camp. Ukulele Lessons for Beginners at Spicer Music Studio (Age 6 & up)

For most players, the ukulele is a better instrument to start with as they are less intimidating, cause less finger pain, are less complex, and less expensive. Virtual Reality Coding (Grades 3-7)
New! Design, develop, and create 3D Virtual Reality environments and characters to make your own 3D games and other virtual reality for kid’s projects on Metaverse's new platform Hatch. Hatch is an incredibly fun and stimulating way to learn STEM! Parents will send info on how to register for a Hatch VR account. VR programs can be viewed on most mobile phones, and VR Systems like oculus or google cardboard. You only need a laptop/computer to get started. Additional Technical Requirement: PC Needed to do development work.(Windows or MacBook), will not work on Chromebook, tablets, or phones. To view VR, you must have an oculus or other VR glasses. But worlds can be viewed on normal PC/Phones/Tables in 3D.

Wunderkeys...A Musical Experience at Spicer Music Studio (Ages 3 1/2-5 with Caregiver)
This program offers a unique musical experience tailored to meet the needs of preschool-aged children and ensures their first music lesson experience is positive and enjoyable. Your child will participate in different unique activities to keep them focused, engaged and happy. Beginners in this program start with no prior piano or music experience. They finish with solid keyboard awareness and understanding of rhythmic notation and the ability to play simple pieces with both hands. Lessons are taught one-on-one with a parent present. Instructor contact information will be given at the time of registration. Lessons last 30 minutes with a limit of three lessons per student through Community Education.
