Join board game professional, Dawn Marinaro, who has been teaching games for over 20 years and learn to play some of the best modern games that will be a hit at your next gathering with friends and family. 1304-24F1 (New Releases) October's classes feature two of the best new releases: October 8th: After Us - Do you have what it takes to rebuild society, and can you do it with a tribe of apes? October 22nd: Wandering Towers - Can you get all of your wizards safely into the tower before it wanders away? (GAMA 2024 Gateway Game of the Year) 1304-24F2 (Cooperative) November's classes feature cooperative games where you work together as a team: November 5th: Astro Knights - Making the universe safer, one bad guy at a time! November 19th: Dresden Files - Based on the books by Jim Butcher, can you solve the mystery before Dresden's luck runs out? 1304-24F3 (Party Games) December's classes feature fun party games with simple rules and maximum social interaction: December 3rd: Outrun the Bear - You don't have to outrun the bear; you just have to outrun your friends! Flapjack & Sasquatches: The Dice Game - Use the Sasquatch dice and push your luck! December 17th: Cross Clues - Think carefully about your single word clues to fill the grid! 5 Minute Dungeon - You have five chaotic minutes to defeat dungeon monsters! 1304-24F4 (Escape Room) January's class features escape room style games: January 7th: Unlock - Search scenes for clues to solve your objective!

Seed art is a long-time tradition at the Minnesota State Fair. Using assorted crop seeds, artists glue them to boards and other surfaces to make beautiful and creative works of art. This class will provide an introduction to crop art including a brief history, styles, specific techniques for making a seed art design, and how to enter your work in the State Fair. Participants will have an opportunity to make a work of their own to bring home. Tuition includes supplies. About the Instructors: Amy and Steve Saupe are a father/daughter seed art team who have won multiple blue ribbons for their seed art entries at the Minnesota State Fair. Enter door 1.

Chess is a complete brain workout that embodies elements of art, science and sport. Beginner and intermediate players will expand their skills, develop strategy, improve pattern recognition and even relieve some stress. Participants are encouraged to bring their own chess sets and a notebook but this is not required. About the Instructor: Mr. Long Chen has placed in the top three in chess tournaments in Laredo, TX; St. Cloud, MN; and Berlin, Germany since age nine. He has a Lichess rating of 2100+ in both Blitz and Rapid formats.

NEW! Have you ever wanted to play Dungeons & Dragons? Come explore the exciting world of Granite Crossing, a unique setting crafted by the instructor herself. Designed for newcomers, these sessions will focus on the fundamentals of Dungeons & Dragons, 5th Edition. Players are encouraged to embody the spirit of heroes, fostering an environment of good sportsmanship and positivity. All players will leave with a set of dice and dice bag. About the instructor: Dawn Marinaro is a board game professional and a seasoned Game Master with over 20 years of experience in teaching new players the art of role-playing games. November 9th and December 7th sessions: participants choose from pre-made characters. January 11th session: participants have the opportunity to create their own characters if desired. Do you want to learn how to play guitar, bass guitar, banjo, mandolin, or ukulele? Led by Steve Cekalla's Guitar and Music School, these professionally-led group lessons are matched to your skill level. You’ll receive three virtual 30-minute group lessons that is fun for beginners, or a more technique and theory-focused for those with instrument experience. Bring to class: your own instrument, however a limited number of guitars are available if requested prior to the start of classes. NEW! Experience needle felting in three dimensions by creating a unique miniature landscape scene that will sit on top of a mug. Beginners and those with experience are welcome. Learn the art of needle-felting by creating a beautiful, handmade, one-of-a-kind scene with wool and barbed needles. The January 29th class will feature classic landscapes while the April 16th class will feature serene beach scenes. Beginners and those with experience are welcome! Barn quilts tell stories of farms, families, historical events and communities, and painting them has become a popular and rewarding artistic experience. Instructor Cynthia Buchholz will guide you through the process from start to finish to create a barn quilt that represents your creative expression. With a weather proof 2' x 2' aluminum composite panel, over 60 high quality paints and all other materials provided, you will leave with your own masterpiece ready to hang and be admired at your home, outbuilding, or business. A $60.00 supplies fee is due at the beginning of class and includes all materials needed. No experience is necessary. Enter door 1.
