Summer Dance
Spend a memorable summer evening outside! Join friends for a night of great music and dancing with music provided by a DJ. Pre-registration is preferred. Walk-ins must be accompanied by staff with full name, address, phone number and class fee to register on site. The Summer Dance is generously co-sponsored by Arc Minnesota and the Bette Pollreis Memorial Fund. Tuition includes pizza, beverage, and entertainment.

Babysitting Clinic (Ages 10-14)
Special Interest
At this babysitting class, your child will learn how to keep other children safe, handle difficult behaviors, change diapers, feed a baby, and more. They'll also learn the basics of first aid and talk about how to handle emergency situations. Students will not be officially certified in CPR or First Aid with this class. Bring to class: a nut-free lunch and water bottle. About the instructor: Andria Kelley is a licensed Early Childhood and Special Education Teacher with experience teaching babysitting clinic for over 15 years. Enter door 1.

Chinese Immersion Camp (grades K-5)
Special Interest
The Chinese Immersion Program at Madison Elementary will offer a 3-day Chinese Immersion summer camp where students will engage in a variety of language and cultural activities, including Chinese language practice, music, art, dance, games, and martial arts. The camp focuses on helping students strengthen their Chinese skills in speaking, listening, reading, and writing through fun, interactive experiences. Teachers will support beginners in developing basic conversational skills, while intermediate students will continue to expand their language skills through readings and engaging activities. Overall, the goal is for students to build confidence using Chinese and develop a deeper appreciation and understanding of Chinese culture. Enter Door 8.

Fencing: Beginner and Beyond (ages 12 & up)
Special Interest
Fencing is a fun and intense sport that teaches quick reactions, excellent coordination and self-discipline. Whether you are a beginner or have taken this class before, you will learn simple and effective self-protection techniques with the sword including attacking and defense among other tactics. All equipment is provided (mask, jacket, glove and weapon). Wear comfortable clothing such as long sweat pants and running shoes. Enter door 4.

Granite City Jump Community Education Nights (ages 4-10)
Special Interest
Bring your child out to Granite City Jump for a bouncy good time. They’ll spend time jumping in a variety of bouncy houses and socializing with other kids. This is a great way to expend energy and get a good workout. Adults must accompany children and may jump with them. Arrive anytime between 4-6pm. Upon arrival, please check in with the front desk staff. Feel free to depart when you've had enough bouncing or stay until 8pm. All participants must wear socks. Guitar, Bass Guitar, Banjo, Mandolin, or Ukulele-Beginner, Intermediate or Beyond (Ages 6-17)
Special Interest
Is your child interested in music? Professional virtual instruction is being offered by Steve Cekalla's Guitar and Music School. This class offers a unique and fun approach for starters, but with the ability to teach styles, theory, and techniques to those with instrument experience. A stable internet connection, some internet savvy (ex. ability to screenshot/print screen), and access to a working printer is helpful. Participants should have their own instrument, but a limited amount of guitars are available. Please check before registering for availability. This Community Education package is for three virtual 30-minute group lessons. Only one lesson package per student. Contact information will be given at the time of registration.

Horse 3-Day Camp (Ages 6-15)
Special Interest
Your child will experience a mini-week long camp. Campers will get to experience everyday life at a barn including activities such as daily riding, learning how to braid manes and tails with ribbon, grooming and caring for the horses (including bathing) and feeding them at the end of the day. This is a great time for campers to spend time outdoors and build lasting friendships with fellow horse lovers in a structured and positive environment. Campers are divided into smaller groups of similar riding experience, which is perfect for both the new and more experienced riders. Riding takes about 1 hour per day in an arena with no trails and consists of learning how to steer, stop, turn, and walk/trot on their own. Campers will spend time on the ground with horses throughout the rest of the day. Camps are held rain or shine. There is an outdoor and indoor arena. Proper attire includes sneakers or boots (closed toe with a heel), long pants and layers, depending on weather. ASTM/SEI certified helmets provided and required to be worn. Signed waiver forms are required and the link will be emailed to participants once they have registered for the camp. Bring to class: sunscreen, bug spray, water bottle, nut-free snack and lunch. Camp is located in Anoka, MN.

Horse Day Camp (Ages 6-15)

Kids will learn what it's like to have a horse for a day! Campers get to ride in the indoor and/or outdoor arenas for 40min-50min (no trails), practice how to steer, stop, turn, and walk on their own. They also might make horse treats, do a craft, and play games. And don't forget the time to meet and care for the horses, which is a big part of ownership! Campers are divided into smaller groups based on similar riding experience and age, which is perfect for both new and more experienced riders! Camps are held rain or shine. Proper attire includes sneakers or boots (closed toe with a heel), long pants and layers, depending on weather. ASTM/SEI certified helmets provided and required to be worn. Signed waiver forms are required. Bring to class: sunscreen, bug spray, water bottle, nut-free snack and lunch. Camp is located in Anoka, MN. NOTE: Drop-off is at 9am and pickup is 3pm. Sorry we do not allow parents to stay for the day.

Riding takes up about 1 hour per day in an arena with no trails and consists of learning how to steer, stop, turn, and walk/trot on their own. Campers will spend time on the ground with horses throughout the rest of the day. Proper attire is required including sneakers or boots (closed toe with a heel) and long pants and layers, depending on weather. ASTM/SEI certified helmets are required for all participants and will be provided. Signed waiver forms are required. Bring to class: bug spray, sunscreen, water bottle, nut-free snack and lunch daily. Camp is located in Anoka, MN. NOTE: Drop-off is at 9 a.m. and pickup is 3 p.m. each day Monday through Friday (parents are not permitted to stay for the day). A “show” for the parents will be held on Friday of weeklong camp at 1:30 p.m. This is a wonderful opportunity to take pictures, watch your child ride, and meet the horse they worked with during the week!

Calling all rising seniors! Kickstart your college application process with this hands-on College Essay writing session. In this 2-hour timeframe, you'll gain expert guidance on brainstorming, structuring, and writing a standout college essay. Bring to class: A device to draft essay. Paper provided if no access to device. Participants will discover what admissions officers are looking for, learn strategies to craft a compelling personal story, receive personalized feedback to strengthen your writing, and walk away having brainstormed, drafted, and created a clear plan for next steps. Bonus: Each participant will receive a 30-minute virtual follow-up session for additional guidance or questions. Led by Lindsay Kehl, an experienced college counselor with over 19 years of guiding students through the college application process, this workshop is designed to reduce stress and help you feel confident about your essay. Math + Fun = Mathnasium! (Grades 2 & Up)

Join us for an afternoon of FUN and MATH! (Yes, they can coexist!) Mathnasium of St. Cloud and their team are welcoming students grades 2nd and up to their learning center to have an afternoon of learning and fun. Staff and students will work on practicing and/or learning a new skill, then playing a group math game together towards the end. The goal is to help kids learn math, and also learn that math is not as scary as they think!

Music Tech and Beatmaking (Grades 4-9)

NEW! Your child will unleash their inner music producer in Music Tech & Beatmaking! This creativity-first camp introduces students to the world of digital music production as they craft drum patterns, bass lines, and melodies, then arrange loops into full tracks. With simple tools and beginner-friendly techniques, students will also learn basic “mastering” skills to give their songs a polished, punchy sound. By the end of camp, everyone will walk away with their own exported tracks to share with friends and family—making this the perfect blend of technology, creativity, and self-expression through music. My Little Horse Camp (Ages 2-5 with Caregiver)

Campers will get to ride a real horse in an arena, meet several different horses at Boulder Pointe and learn how to groom the horses...all with a focus on safety! In addition, students will do an art project and have an opportunity to make horse treats to feed their new friends. Stations are split into 15-minute intervals to keep everyone engaged. Parents have the opportunity to lead their child on the horse and take photographs as they go. Camps are held rain or shine. There is an outdoor and indoor arena. Proper attire includes sneakers or boots (closed toe with a heel), long pants and layers, depending on weather. ASTM/SEI certified helmets provided and required to be worn. This 2-hour camp is designed for parent/guardian participation. Parent/Guardian is expected to remain with their child during the entire duration of the camp. Signed waiver forms are required and the link will be emailed to participants once they have registered for the camp. Bring to class: sunscreen, bug spray, water bottle and a nut-free snack. Roller Skating Lessons at the Skatin' Place (Ages 5 & Up)
Special Interest
Join the Skatin' Place to learn or grow your roller skating skills! Each lesson is designed to teach essential skills for progressing through the levels, all while engaging in fun activities. On the first day, we’ll assess your child’s current skills and place them in one of three levels: Level One: Focus on correct form for skating and stopping. Expect a few falls while taking a full lap. Level Two: Skating forward efficiently. A few falls during the visit are normal. Level Three: Mastering backward skating, stepovers, and the famous “Shoot-the-Duck.”Showing off might lead to a fall or two!" Arrive 10-15 minutes early to lace up and warm up. Skate rental not included in fee.

SCSU Planetarium Show

Join us at the St. Cloud State Planetarium, a dome-shaped theater, for a fascinating educational film paired with a live Current Night Sky presentation using Chronos, one of just 16 star ball projectors in operation in the United States. These programs are perfect for curious minds of both adults and children 5 years of age and older and are a fun and engaging way to explore science together. Minnesota in the Cosmos follows a young boy on a journey through time as he and a time ranger explore the cosmic and geological history of Minnesota. Mysteries of Your Brain is an immersive animated journey into the human brain. Join along with a curious girl and her crow tour guide as you learn how your brain makes you, you! The Planetarium is located in the lower level of the Robert H. Wick Science Building on SCSU campus. Parking is available across the street in the Eastman Lot for a flat fee of $3.00 (cash, card, or Flowbird app accepted.) A map will be emailed to participants prior to the program date. All youth must be accompanied by an adult. Adults need to register to attend as well.

Summer Chess Camp – Make the Right Move! (Grades 1-8)

NEW! Did you know that playing chess can help strengthen a student’s memory, improve a child’s decision-making skills, and help instill an understanding of actions and consequences? Kids who play and practice chess regularly often see increases in math skills as well as reading comprehension. Plus — it’s fun — kids love it! The camp is open to students from 1st grade to 8th grade, regardless of experience level. Chess camp will consist of lessons, chess puzzles, practice games, tournament games, blitz chess (speed chess), chess variations and a look at chess history. Campers will learn basic tactics, strategies, and concepts. Chess sets and other materials will be provided. There will also be time for some physical activity as well. Camp will conclude with a tournament and the awarding of trophies and medals. The chess camp is directed by Pat LaVone, a highly regarded Minnesota chess coach, with over 28 years of teaching experience. He has led teams to top finishes in U.S. championship events and coached Eden Prairie High School and Breck School teams to Minnesota State Scholastic Championships. In 2004, LaVone was honored as the Minnesota School Chess Association Coach of the Year.
