3D Printing & CAD (Grades 2-6)Special InterestNEW! This 3D printing camp takes your child through the 3D printing process from start to finish. They'll design 3D objects using TinkerCAD (online web app) and use the 3D slicing program Cura to bring creations to life. This course is an excellent introduction to 3D printing and is ideal for students who like to draw, design, and imagine. One 3D design will be printed and mailed to students. ACT Prep Seminar (Grades 10-12)Special InterestIn-Person Option: This five-hour seminar enables your learner to prepare for the ACT college admission test. Your child will gain valuable insight into the ACT through a close examination of each type of question. This seminar will teach strategies necessary for answering specific question types and general test-taking tips. It also provides suggestions for post seminar test preparation. Your student will receive 24 practice tests, divided into 20-minute workouts, written to ACT specifications, as well as a detailed preparation study guide. Virtual Option: This five-hour virtual seminar enables your learner to prepare for the ACT college admission test. Your child will gain valuable insight into the ACT through a close examination of each type of question. This virtual seminar will teach strategies necessary for answering specific question types and general test-taking tips. It also provides suggestions for post seminar test preparation. Your student will receive 24 practice tests, divided into 20-minute workouts, written to ACT specifications, as well as a detailed preparation study guide. Art Studio Cohort @ North (Grades 6-8)Arts & CraftsThis 7 week version of art studio will take place in cohort format, with an emphasis on learning to share stories through our artwork. All members of the cohort will work towards creating a final piece of art which will then be displayed in an art show hosted by the students. Members should come ready to learn and participate in a process of both collaborative and individual creation. In contrast to art club, this cohort will focus on coaching the process of creation, while allowing students to choose their favorite mediums including watercolor, pastel, ink, pencil, charcoal, acrylic paint, block printing, photography, and collage.
