Swim 2 (ages 5 & up)
Participants learn to swim without support. Safety topics include being able to recall parents/guardians names, home address, proper use of lifejacket and boat safety. Class limit: 5. Mississippi String Music Camp (Completed Grades 3-12)
A wonderful musical opportunity awaits string players of all ages as they plan their summer fun. This camp is open to area violin, viola, cello and bass players. It will provide students with an opportunity to make music, meet new friends, and work with various conductors and musicians while improving skills. A variety of activities will be planned including orchestra rehearsals and sectionals plus enrichment activities such as fiddling, playing an electronic instrument and composing music. No auditions are required. Students must have completed one year or more of study on a string instrument. Sheet music and a t-shirt will be provided (indicate Adult S, M, L, XL, XXL when registering). Please also indicate most recent school attended, string teacher, instrument and course section level. Enter door 7, each day of camp.For specific questions regarding class levels or scholarships, please contact Carlin Mayhew at 320-223-8281.Level 1 – this group is geared for students who have completed one or two years of study. No prior group experience needed.Level 2 – for students who have been playing at least two years, know all of the notes in first position and have had some experience in an orchestra setting. Suzuki equivalent is book 2 or 3.Level 3 – a group for more advanced students who like to work on more challenging orchestra pieces. They need to have some experience playing in positions (2nd, 3rd, 4th) and should be using vibrato. Suzuki level should be book 4 or higher. Wind players may apply. Concert Friday June 13, 2025 11 AM in the Apollo Auditorium.Early Bird discount of $10 is available through June 1, 2025

Life
Participants who are 55+ who complete this course get a 10% discount in your auto insurance premiums. Taught as a presentation from a certified instructor, you’ll discuss challenges drivers face, new road designs, vehicle technology, and updates on current laws. There are no written or behind the wheel tests and a certificate of completion will be provided at the end of class. Update: The 8-hour initial class requirement has been removed as of July 1st, 2024. Participants must take 4-hour course to initially earn the discount and then repeat the 4-hour class every three years to maintain the discount.

Adult & Pediatric CPR, AED, First Aid

The American Heart Association: Adult and Pediatric CPR, AED, First Aid program helps you recognize and respond appropriately to cardiac, automated external defibrillator (AED), breathing and first aid emergencies in adults, children and infants. This program will teach you the knowledge and skills needed to give immediate care to an injured or ill person and to decide whether advanced medical care is needed. Upon successful completion, you'll receive an American Heart Association: Adult and Pediatric CPR, AED, First Aid certification card that is valid for two years. The certification will be emailed within a few days after completion. Enter door 1.

Adult lessons are a perfect balance for the beginner golfer and those who want to review the basics and brush up on their game. You will learn the proper grips, stance, club selection, chipping, putting, full swing, common rules and course etiquette. You will enjoy lessons with a variety of demonstrations, handouts, practice time, skill challenges and course play time. Bring to class: your own clubs. Please notify Angushire Golf Club in advance if you do not have clubs as a select amount of clubs may be available.

American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification Course

American Red Cross Lifeguard Training Provides entry-level participants the knowledge and skills to prevent, recognize and respond to aquatic emergencies and to provide care for breathing and cardiac emergencies, injuries and sudden illnesses until EMS personnel take over. Pre-work will be sent 2 days prior to class via email on file. Enter door 2. Prerequisites: Must be 15 years old; Swim 300 yards continuously; Tread water for 2 minutes using only the legs; Complete a timed event within 1 minute, 40 seconds by starting in the water, swimming 20 yards, surface dive to a depth of 7 to 10 feet to retrieve a 10-pound object, return to the surface and swim 20 yards on the back to return to the starting point, exit the water without using steps or a ladder. Participants who successfully complete the Lifeguarding course receive an American Red Cross certificate for Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED, valid for 2 years. Come prepared to swim. Bring lunch, snacks and a water bottle. **If you are working for St. Cloud Community Education Aquatics and the class says it is full, pease call 320-370-8200 for reserved spots** No discounts available for these certification classes.
