Special Opportunities
This group offers activities for children from birth to age 5, led by a licensed early childhood teacher. A licensed parent educator will also facilitate a parent discussion group, with topics based on family needs and interests. Recognizing the challenges faced by family members of all ages and stages, this group aspires to create a safe and welcoming space to explore questions, concerns, and hopes. This group is especially intended for families with one or more members who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, or questioning (LGBTQ+). We recognize that families come in many forms, and all are welcome—including allies and extended family members.

55+ Driver Discount Program
Life
At this driver improvement course, you’ll discuss challenges drivers face, new road designs, vehicle technology, and updates to current laws. There are no written or behind the wheel tests, and a certificate of completion will be provided at the end of class. Class is taught as a presentation from a certified instructor. Participants age 55+ who complete this course can get a 10% auto insurance premium discount. Please remember to bring water, coffee, or snacks to enjoy during class. Enter door 1.

This is intended for the Initial Contact form for the ARISE program. Please complete one form per child to be considered for ARISE. Important note! There is no charge for submitting this form, but you must complete the checkout to be enrolled. You must also receive a confirmation email upon checkout or your student will not be considered as a candidate for ARISE.

Adult & Pediatric CPR, AED, First Aid (Ages 11+)

The American Heart Association: Adult and Pediatric CPR, AED, First Aid program helps you recognize and respond appropriately to cardiac, automated external defibrillator (AED), breathing and first aid emergencies in adults, children and infants. This program will teach you the knowledge and skills needed to give immediate care to an injured or ill person and to decide whether advanced medical care is needed. Upon successful completion, you'll receive an American Heart Association: Adult and Pediatric CPR, AED, First Aid certification card that is valid for two years. The certification will be emailed within a few days after completion. This class is suitable for participants as young as 11 years of age and must have the strength to compress a CPR manikin two inches. Enter door 1.

Apollo Youth Swim Camp (Grades K-6)

Apollo Swim Camp is open to anyone who is kindergarten through 6th grade, and can comfortably and independently swim in the shallow end, at a minimum. We will work on skills needed for each participant, from basic swimming skills to competitive swimming skills. * For scholarships, contact Coach Shanley at evan.shanley@isd742.org Transportation: Activity bus from North to Apollo (for 6th graders only). No activity bus from Kennedy (no supervision of participants available). Parents will be required to pick up students at the end of the camp at Apollo, door 11. Students must provide their own suits and towels. Goggles and swim caps are highly recommended, but not required.

ECFE for Parents and Threes & Fours & Fives
For parents and children 3 years to kindergarten entry age. Classes include parent-child playtime, time for parents to observe their young children playing in an early childhood learning center, and time to discuss parenting concerns with other parents and a teacher. Child guidance and parent support are provided by teachers licensed in early childhood and parent education. This class will separate to a parent education room for parent discussion.

Designed to orient your child (accompanied by parent) to better prepare them for Toddler Swim lessons. Parents will learn safety information and techniques to help your child feel comfortable in the water. This class provides a bonding experience for parents and their children. Class limit: 12. Banh Mi: From Baguette to Bite

NEW! In this online cooking class, you’ll learn to make Vietnam’s iconic sandwich, Banh Mi, a delicious fusion of French and Vietnamese culinary traditions. From scratch you will create crisp bakery-quality baguettes assembled with char sir chicken, colorful pickled vegetables, and zesty mayo spread. If you prefer to keep it simple you can bring your own favorite bakery baguettes and focus on the fillings and assembly. Participants will receive a list of ingredients five days prior to class to allow enough time for shopping and preparation. The full recipe will be sent out a few days after class.

We will create black out poems and use the rest of our page to create art to enhance the new poem. This form of writing is very exciting and improvisational as the poem begins appear and take form. Bodies In Motion Presents Contemporary Line Dancing

Whether you're looking to try something new, get moving, or meet fun people, Bodies In Motion is a contemporary line dancing fitness class all about having fun, spreading positive vibes, building confidence, and connecting with others. You'll dance to all genres of music, learning new routines each week that builds on previous sessions. Wear comfortable clothing and feel free to show some flair with a large clack fan or a cowboy/cowgirl hat! To add even more excitement throughout the season, participants can look forward to monthly themed nights celebrating Valentine's day (2/11), Tanika's Lucky Birthday Celebration (3/11), Spring Fling (4/15), and Almost Summer Bash (5/13). Your child will learn two skills at once with fitness kickboxing & boxing combined. This one-hour class is open to boys and girls of all skill levels from recreational, fitness, self-defense, as well as competitive. Participants will learn basic boxing/striking skills, proper kicking techniques, conditioning drills, and how to defend themselves. The skills taught can serve as a base for hand-eye coordination, footwork, and focus to use in other sports.

Code Championship Tournament Series: Virtual Computer Coding Competition (Grades 3-9)

Your child will learn how to build a computer bot to compete against other coders. Whether new or experienced, this is the perfect way for your child to explore competitive coding. The Code Championship Series is four online tournaments hosted on Google Meet. If you have a modern browser, no download is required. Players must be able to navigate the internet. The Google Meet link will be emailed two days before the tournament.

Cookie Decorating Class (Grades K-6)

Let your creativity bloom in this sweet springtime workshop designed just for young bakers! In Pastel Petals Cookie Decorating, kids will learn the basics of cookie design using soft pastel colors, floral themes, and fun icing techniques. From pretty petals to adding sparkly details, each participant will decorate their own set of sugar cookies to take home and share (or keep all to themselves—we won’t tell!). This hands-on class encourages artistic expression, builds kitchen confidence, and celebrates the joy of spring through sugar and smiles.
