NEW! Do you want to learn more about self-advocacy and build leadership skills? The primary goal of Emerging Civic Leadership (ECL) Training is to educate individuals with various abilities ages 18 and older, and their parents, of the importance of advocacy and civic engagement. This class empowers individuals to advocate for themselves in decision-making. This training can prepare you to serve effectively on a variety of civic service committees or boards and to actively contribute back to your community. Topics include creating and maintaining coalitions and partnerships, building leadership skills, advocating for change and influencing policy development. A different topic will be discussed each session. This training is co-sponsored by Independent Lifestyles. Class limit: 20.
