American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification Course
American Red Cross Lifeguard Training Provides entry-level participants the knowledge and skills to prevent, recognize and respond to aquatic emergencies and to provide care for breathing and cardiac emergencies, injuries and sudden illnesses until EMS personnel take over. Please wear a mask. Enter door 1. Prerequisites: Must be 15 years old; Swim 300 yards continuously; Tread water for 2 minutes using only the legs; Complete a timed event within 1 minute, 40 seconds by starting in the water, swimming 20 yards, surface dive to a depth of 7 to 10 feet to retrieve a 10-pound object, return to the surface and swim 20 yards on the back to return to the starting point, exit the water without using steps or a ladder. Participants who successfully complete the Lifeguarding course receive an American Red Cross certificate for Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED, valid for 2 years. Come prepared to swim. Baby Bobbers (ages 6-24 months)
Designed to orient your child (accompanied by parent) to better prepare them for Toddler Swim lessons. Parents will learn safety information and techniques to help your child feel comfortable in the water. This class provides a bonding experience for parents and their children. Class limit: 8. Private Lesson (adults/children)
These lessons are 25 minutes long and will meet 8 times. Private lessons are designed to give any participant the individualized attention necessary in order to improve or master swimming skills. Together, the instructor, participants and/or parent determine the goals for the session and the curriculum is customized in order to meet those goals. Private lessons are available for adults and children. Participants become comfortable in the water learning basic skills. Safety topics include pool rules, recognizing lifeguard, safe water entry, being able to recall name and phone number, helping yourself in an emergency and proper use of a lifejacket.
