Flow + Restore Yoga
You'll enjoy a flow class with a moderate pace and intensity with a focus on connecting breath with movement. The teachers prepare a sequence of postures that include a mix of stability, balance and mobility, linked with functional transitions and breath. There will be at least 10 minutes dedicated to meditation time (not including savasana), using various meditation techniques such as guided, visualization, or silent seated meditation with a slow, flowing sequence in the ambience of candlelight. Open to all levels of experience. Bring to class: yoga mat and water.

Adult & Pediatric CPR, AED, First Aid

The American Heart Association: Adult and Pediatric CPR, AED, First Aid program helps you recognize and respond appropriately to cardiac, automated external defibrillator (AED), breathing and first aid emergencies in adults, children and infants. This program will teach you the knowledge and skills needed to give immediate care to an injured or ill person and to decide whether advanced medical care is needed. Upon successful completion, you'll receive an American Heart Association: Adult and Pediatric CPR, AED, First Aid certification card that is valid for two years. Enter door 1.

Beginner Kung Fu

Explore the ancient art of Kung Fu, practiced as a form of exercise to improve mental concentration, stress relief, mobility, flexibility, and coordination. Students will start with basic Kung Fu training and progress to self-defense techniques such as striking, throwing, grappling, and take-down. Students will also learn prescribed routines at each technical level. About the Instructor: Master Dee Ma is a graduate of Beijing University of Sports specializing in Chinese Martial Arts. She had nine years of intensive martial arts training before she went to the college. She has been teaching Martial Arts /Tai Chi since 1985. She was a certified national Kung Fu first class referee in China.

Being Balanced & Centered: Fall Prevention Techniques

Do you fear stumbling, tripping, slipping and falling? Join us for an introduction to understanding how your body should move. You'll learn body mechanics that will enhance your overall strength and centeredness used for everyday actions such as sitting down, getting up and walking. With this new awareness of body alignment and structure, you can repeat these motions throughout your day. Wear loose comfortable clothing. We will practice barefoot or with socks that grip on a hardwood floor.

Boxing for Fitness (Men & Women)

These sessions are open to both men and women whether competing or just wanting to learn the basic fundamentals of boxing. Headgear and gloves are provided to practice. You will need to purchase a mouth guard and hand wraps. If you are interested in competing, information will be available for participants at class.

Community Meditation & Sound Bath

NEW! Join us for an acoustic sound bath journey to relax the body and calm the mind. Let the sounds and vibrations of crystal singing bowls, chimes, drum and gong carry you into deep relaxation to help you reset, recharge and increase wellbeing. Dress comfortably in layers. Bring to class: a yoga mat, blankets, pillows, or camping chair as the sound bath can be experienced either seated or lying down. Enter door 1.

Fencing: Beginner and Beyond

Fencing is a fun and intense sport that teaches quick reactions, excellent coordination and self-discipline. Whether you are a beginner or have taken this class before, you will learn simple and effective self-protection techniques with the sword including attacking and defense among other tactics. All equipment is provided (mask, jacket, glove and weapon). Wear comfortable clothing such as long sweat pants and running shoes. Enter door 1.

Harmony on Water: Stand Up Paddle Board Yoga & Sound Bath

Join us for a unique experience that combines stand-up paddle board yoga with the soothing vibrations of a sound bath. Class will begin with a brief introduction to paddle boarding techniques and safety along with a gentle yoga warm-up before finally experiencing a meditative sound bath with crystal singing bowls, chimes, and drums, while you float peacefully on your SUP board. NOTE: All participants must sign a waiver and be over 16 years of age. Participants under 18 wlll need a parent or guardian to sign the waiver. No lifeguard will be present.

Introduction to Shoulder & Foot Massage

This hands-on class provides the opportunity for partners or close friends to learn basic techniques and experience some of the benefits of massage. Physician’s approval is requested if you have an upper back or neck injury. As this class involves learning massage techniques through hands-on practice, participants must sign up with a close friend or partner. Both participants must be registered. Introduction to T'ai Chi Chuan

Learn the principles of body movement to improve your health, balance, and stamina through the Yang Cheng Fu system of T’ai Chi. This solo exercise can be done anywhere and offers multiple benefits, including increased concentration, coordination, muscle flexibility, and strength, as well as improved circulation. Practicing T’ai Chi daily with its slow, gentle movements and deep breathing can reduce stress and lower blood pressure. A class for women is provided on Wednesday mornings. Wear loose, comfortable clothing and nonslip stockings or practice barefoot.

Pickleball Lessons: Beginner One, Beginner Two, and Intermediate

Come experience the fastest growing sport in the country! Beginner One sessions will teach players the rules, proper form and basic strategies of the game. Beginner Two sessions will help participants strengthen core skills, improve game knowledge and shot selection. Intermediate sessions will focus on strategy and shot selection while improving consistency of skills. Please bring paddle or one will be provided. If outside, class may be moved inside to another location due to weather conditions. Beginner One players (1.0-2.0) are new to pickleball and have a minimal understanding of the game and no prior experience. Beginner Two players (2.0-2.9) have a basic understanding of the rules and can maintain a short rally. Intermediate players (3.0-3.5) can maintain rallies and volley effectively with both forehand and backhand and serving and return consistently with direction and depth. About the Instructor: Nicole Idalski grew up playing tennis at the high school, collegiate and USTA levels. Since converting to pickleball, she has won in women's and mixed doubles at the 4.0, 4.5 and Senior Pro levels and teaches pickleball lessons to all ages and skill levels.

Rock Steady Boxing for Seniors

This boxing-for-fitness program is for seniors over 55 as well as individuals with Parkinson's Disease. You'll participate in non-contact boxing drills that help build motor skills, balance and coordination through a variety of different exercises including punching a heavy bag, hitting the focus mitts and some glove-to-glove contact. A variety of movements, stepping, bobbing and weaving help you build focus, be attentive and get in shape. Class instructors are certified through Rock Steady Boxing of Indianapolis and the Struthers Parkinson's Center of Park Nicollet. Boxing gloves will be provided along with walkers, canes and wheelchairs to assist those that need support when standing. Wear light shoes for standing on foam wrestling mats.

You'll learn more about awareness and preventative avoidance measures to help lower your risk of assault. Other techniques covered include basic blocking, striking, releases and vital target areas. This class will be part lecture and part hands-on. Participants must be age 12 or older.

In this introductory course you will gain a basic understanding of the psychology behind attacks and defenses and learn how to avoid oncoming actions, get out of chokes, release arm grabs and how to apply simple and effective counteractions to an opponent.
