Life
At this driver improvement course, you’ll discuss challenges drivers face, new road designs, vehicle technology, and updates to current laws. There are no written or behind the wheel tests, and a certificate of completion will be provided at the end of class. Class is taught as a presentation from a certified instructor. Participants age 55+ who complete this course can get a 10% auto insurance premium discount. Please remember to bring water, coffee, or snacks to enjoy during class. Enter door 1.

Adult & Pediatric CPR, AED, First Aid (Ages 11+)

The American Heart Association: Adult and Pediatric CPR, AED, First Aid program helps you recognize and respond appropriately to cardiac, automated external defibrillator (AED), breathing and first aid emergencies in adults, children and infants. This program will teach you the knowledge and skills needed to give immediate care to an injured or ill person and to decide whether advanced medical care is needed. Upon successful completion, you'll receive an American Heart Association: Adult and Pediatric CPR, AED, First Aid certification card that is valid for two years. The certification will be emailed within a few days after completion. This class is suitable for participants as young as 11 years of age and must have the strength to compress a CPR manikin two inches. Enter door 1.

Banh Mi: From Baguette to Bite

NEW! In this online cooking class, you’ll learn to make Vietnam’s iconic sandwich, Banh Mi, a delicious fusion of French and Vietnamese culinary traditions. From scratch you will create crisp bakery-quality baguettes assembled with char sir chicken, colorful pickled vegetables, and zesty mayo spread. If you prefer to keep it simple you can bring your own favorite bakery baguettes and focus on the fillings and assembly. Participants will receive a list of ingredients five days prior to class to allow enough time for shopping and preparation. The full recipe will be sent out a few days after class.

Bodies In Motion Presents Contemporary Line Dancing

Whether you're looking to try something new, get moving, or meet fun people, Bodies In Motion is a contemporary line dancing fitness class all about having fun, spreading positive vibes, building confidence, and connecting with others. You'll dance to all genres of music, learning new routines each week that builds on previous sessions. Wear comfortable clothing and feel free to show some flair with a large clack fan or a cowboy/cowgirl hat! To add even more excitement throughout the season, participants can look forward to monthly themed nights celebrating Valentine's day (2/11), Tanika's Lucky Birthday Celebration (3/11), Spring Fling (4/15), and Almost Summer Bash (5/13). NEW! Are you looking for a place to play Mah Jongg and connect with others who love the game? We're working to grow a local Mah Jongg community to offer additional open play opportunities. If you're interested, sign up to be added to our Mah Jongg email list. While cooking, we will talk about Moroccan spices, including Ras el Hanout, and varieties of other types of tagine dishes. You do not need a tagine pot to make tagine. Music Lessons for Adults - Beginner, Intermediate or Beyond

Do you want to learn how to play either the guitar, bass guitar, banjo, mandolin, or ukulele? Led by Steve Cekalla's Guitar and Music School, these group lessons are matched to your skill level. You’ll receive three virtual 30-minute group lessons that is fun for beginners, or a more technique and theory-focused for those with instrument experience. Bring to class: your own instrument. Inspired by viral art videos, this class taps into the wild, expressive side of art-making by using tree branches dipped in black paint to strike a canvas and create bold, abstract works. We'll start by gathering branches before heading inside to experiment on canvas boards. Then you'll unleash your creativity on a pre-primed 16” x 20” canvas to make a one-of-a-kind statement piece. Please wear appropriate clothes for painting.

NEW! Join us at the St. Cloud State Planetarium, a dome-shaped theater, for a fascinating educational film paired with a live Current Night Sky presentation using the star ball projector. These programs are perfect for curious minds of all ages and are a fun and engaging way to explore science together. From Earth to the Universe (February 10th, February 12th, and April 8th) - Journey through the history surrounding our exploration of our Solar System and beyond and learn about the discoveries that humans have made over centuries of investigation beyond our home planet. Dinosaurs Alive (March 11th, March 17th, and April 16th) - Travel back in time to when dinosaurs ruled the Earth. Join paleontologists as they unlock the mysteries contained in fossils from millions of years ago and uncover evidence that dino descendants are still with us today. The Planetarium is located in the lower level of the Robert H. Wick Science Building on SCSU campus. Parking is available across the street in the Eastman Lot for a flat fee of $3.00 (cash, card, or Flowbird app accepted.) A map will be emailed to participants prior to the program date.
